Cursus Advanced English

Our Class In Action Project

During the schoolyear 2019-2020, the Advanced English year 9 and 10 took part in the « Class in Action » theatre project: three days of plays, theatre, workshops and events in Prague, Czech Republic. We divided into 2 mixed groups of year 9 and 10 and we created 2 plays, one called ‘the ICT’ and the other one ‘URBEX’.

At school, from September to January, we voted for the themes of our plays, we looked for ideas and wrote the scripts (well, mostly the teachers) and we then chose the play we wanted to be in and rehearsed a lot. At the end of January, we first performed in front of our parents and our schoolmates before going to Prague and playing in front of the other theatre groups.

We were in Prague from February 6th to February 9th 2020. We met all the groups; there were Polish, Czech and English people as well as us. First, we performed our plays and then we created other new short plays in different mixed groups and played them again in front of the others. We also visited Prague with a tour guide and we saw many famous monuments: Wenceslas Square, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, the Dancing House…

The night of the awards ceremony, we went to a four-star hotel to eat and celebrate all together. We won diplomas and the Best Sounds & Lights prize. We took group photos, danced and celebrated with the others our last night in Prague.
